The Flow Cytometry Unit has been only recently acquired by a generous donation of BodosakisFoundation 2011 and is comprised of a Becton-Dickinson (BD) Flow Cytometer with 3 Laser detectors along with the corresponding supportive software. The unit is operatively connected to the Unit of Molecular Neuroimmunology.

The Flow Cytometry Unit provides the ability to identify cells (neuronal, progenitor and mature forms, inflammatory, etc.) with detection of specific markers as well as analysis  of peripheral blood samples of patients and animals through application of specific protocols. This unit is a valuable tool for monitoring patients under immunomodulatory therapies.
