The ENNI Lab, in order to support clinical and diagnostic needs for the hospitalized patients, performs a series of diagnostic tests. These tests are funded by the AHEPA University Hospital (National Health Care System) for the hospitalized patients or by independent Research Grants.
-
Determination of Autoantibodies (anti-GM1, anti-MAG and anti-GQ1b) using ELISA methodology. These tests apply for the diagnostic procedures of Peripheral Nervous System radiculopathies. The test is no longer supported by the Hospital.
-
Determination of Antineuronal antibodies (anti-Hu, anti-Yo, anti-Ri, anti-amphiphysin) with immunoblot and in situ hybridization for the investigation of paraneoplastic neurological syndromes. The test is no longer supported by the Hospital.
-
Determination of mRNA, cytokines and immunotype of T-cell for the estimation of the immunological status of Multiple Sclerosis patients under treatment and monitored by our specialized medical and nursing staff of the Multiple Sclerosis Outpatient Office. The test is no longer supported by the Hospital.
-
Immunoelectrophoresis of CSF and serum for the determination of oligoclonal IgG bands. The test is funded by a research grant.
-
Detection of neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) against interferon-β (INF-β) in Multiple Sclerosis patients’ serum treated with recombinant INF-b commercial compounds (AVONEX, Rebif, Betaferon, Extavia). The ENNI Lab has been certified by the National Drug Agengy (Ε.Ο.Φ.) and the corresponding Pharmaceutical company (GENESIS) as a specialized diagnostic Center for this test for all patients from Greece, Cyprus and potentially the Southeastern Europe. The test is funded by a research grant.
-
Detection of serum neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) against the monoclonal antibody Natalizumab (TYSABRI) in patients with Multiple Sclerosis under such treatment. Testing for Nabs is mandatory for proper treatment procedures and needs to be performed several times during Natalizumab treatment. The ENNI Lab has been certified by the National Drug Agengy (Ε.Ο.Φ.) and the corresponding Pharmaceutical company (BIOGEN-IDEC) as specialized diagnostic Center for this test in Greece . The test is funded by a research grant.
Unfortunately, due to recent funding restrictions and budget cut-offs of the National Health Care System, AHEPA University no longer supports some of the neuroimmunological tests for the hospitalized patients. Patients are obliged to run such tests in private Laboratories.
